Gateley RJA celebrates National Apprenticeship Week with Nottingham Trent University

National Apprenticeship Week took place between 5-9 February 2024, with this year’s theme being ‘skills for life’. The occasion was an opportunity for the education and skills sector to celebrate the achievements of apprentices and the positive impact they make to communities, businesses, and the wider economy.

Gateley RJA are proud advocates of apprenticeship schemes within the workplace, and currently have eight placements within our business in partnership with Nottingham Trent University (NTU). We are proud to work with such dedicated and enthusiastic apprentices and value the significant contributions they make to businesses, with many of our students progressing into more senior roles at Gateley RJA.

Apprentice George Pain films for NTU and Notts TV

As part of National Apprenticeship Week celebrations, George Pain – a Quantity Surveyor and fifth year apprentice and Liza Julian – Director of Corporate Services, worked with NTU to produce a marketing video detailing George’s degree apprenticeship journey, the benefits of this route compared to full-time studies including the opportunity to gain practical experience and build confidence in the workplace and the positive impact apprenticeships have had on the business.

The video was shown on Notts TV. Watch George’s interview which aired with footage from the NTU marketing video on Tuesday 6 February 2024.

Gateley RJA supports Apprenticeship Open Day at NTU

As well as filming during National Apprenticeship Week, Hannah Crawford, Assistant Quantity Surveyor, and Becky Booth, HR Advisor, also attended NTU’s Apprenticeship Open Day to provide insight into our business, as well as the Level 6 Chartered Surveyor Degree Apprenticeship (Quantity Surveyor Pathway).

Held at NTU’s Newton building on its City Campus, the day brought together employers, current and prospective apprentices, academics, course leaders and industry experts. It was well attended by prospective students from local colleges and sixth forms, as well as current NTU students looking to find out more about future options.

During the Open Day, Hannah, who is currently in her third year of the apprenticeship degree course at NTU, was interviewed by a university representative for their social media channels and provided insight into her apprenticeship experience. You can watch the video here.

It was great to be able to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week with NTU, as well as the successes of our own apprentice colleagues, and we look forward to next year’s event.
